How to teach a kid to be respectful

"Po" or "Opo" is a very good exercise for kids to learn respect in the Philippines. This translates to "Yes sir/mam" in any other country. Rheema has always used these words of respect to signify that she accepts the deal. We offer her deals like after you watch your movie, it's time to brush your teeth and take a nap. We always request her to answer. If she does not acknowledge or respond, she has not accepted the deal and it has to be reworded or restructured until it is acceptable to her.

We do our best to make sure that we do good on what we say to her. Deals are made on a regular basis and she has learned to negotiate with whomever is offering a deal. It is quite a delight to listen to her pitches & counter offer, some quite reasonable to warrant an acceptance on our end.

She has learned respect from us and in turn we have given her the same.

We do a lot of things to generate income from home. Wake up early to prepare lunch for my daughter, check my website www.GirliesCrochet.com  ,  mails and help my daughter get up. Then crochet and prepare some food for our lunch. But I have a lot of time listening to YouTube music while crocheting and playing MyVegas Slots. Long ago, I already played games on Facebook like Farmville, Mafia Wars, Candy Crush Saga and others. But lately, I only play MyVegas Slots. A year ago when my husband introduced that game to me. I don’t know how the slots machine works but the winnings will keep you playing. I won 96,000,000 chips :)...

Rheema's art @4 yo

What a difference a mood makes. My 4 year old daughter was so excited to color the fruits in her devotional booklet when we got home from church, she couldn't wait. We both knew she was very tired since we had been out all day and the day before. "This post supposedly posted 5 years ago, Rheema is 9 years old now :) How time flies."

A GOOD LESSON TO LEARN FROM

(This is just a repost from facebook. I think we should teach our kids some stuff /chores at home) Repost:  One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company. He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision. The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a year when he did not score. The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" the youth answered "none". The director asked, " Was it your father who paid for your school fees?"  The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.
